Is current reality television in our country a good portrayal of women in society today?

Do you think that shows such as (Basketball Wives,The Housewives Franchise,Mob Wives,Jersey Shore,Bad Girls Club,Love and Hip Hop,and etc.) portray women in our country today in a positive way? I ask this because Shaunie O'Neal did an interview some months ago on CNN News about the Basketball Wives show and had to defend the negative portrayal of African American women that the cast current are assumed to be.The other shows listed have either boycotts, ratings falling, sponsors that are dropping from supporting their shows because of their behaviors, or people making false assumptions about women of that same social/race/geographical type.Is it really right for people to assume that women in our country are the same as these people on these television shows?Should these behaviors be judged by people outside of our country and inside just from the negativity that is shown on television?Or should other people that are not in those types listed above take offense to these women along with everyone else who sees their behavior as negative?Honestly what is a fair judgement to say about these shows? Can one say this is just for entertainment and people will know how to separate the difference from false and real?

I feel like the shows do come off in a negative way if you do not watch each show and follow the story line each time.Someone watching the show briefly or flipping through channels may make initial assumptions about them initially because of the arguing and fighting that does go on with them I have to admit. I do not think it is fair to assume stereotypes about the women in them based off a preview. But it is up to the women in the shows to present themselves in a way that they have no issue with people passing a judgement about either. I am not saying it is alright to judge people in every case, but with a snapshot of negativity it can go a long way with some people.I think this is the possible reason why people are making negative remarks about the show is because they assume negative behaving and portrayed women are being glamorized in a good way.

Do double standards still exist in some parts of the country today?

I ask this because there are many laws and views of society out there that seem double standard or sexist to both genders to many.(ie, child support, custody, definition of sexual harassment, wage difference with jobs, what a gender's job is is the marriage/household,expectations as a parent, career ideology, etc.)

Who is someone to say what someone's job or expectation is because of what gender they are?Why are the assumptions out there about gender's?Is it possible for both genders to be viewed equally?Or is the history of what our country was founded on with regards to the constitution and laws to blame for what happens in society today?

If women were not initially automatically the household runners and the man the breadwinner since as long before modern times, would both genders be treated fairly? If men were not used to having life this way, would they been seen as equal to women?Would the same assumptions be made about both genders if society never portrayed each gender differently? In reality would both genders really want to be treated equally and held up to the same physical/mental expectations as the other?

Household Products Recommendations I had to share!!!

Today I used the @Mr.Clean Hawaiian Aloha Multipurpose Cleaner to clean my whole house mostly. This stuff has the best scent and works as an air freshner for the rest of the day. Plus it cleaned my showers, toilets, counters, and floors wonderfully.I really think this is something you should try if you are looking for a clean home, without the gag me smell to it.lol

I also want to recommend shopping at @Babies R Us in store or online and @www.amazon.com for Pampers diapers in the size of 7. I have ran into many people that did not know they came in this size and were using pull ups until their babies were old enough to actually be potty trained. This size is for the extra chubby or super tall babies(aka my daughter) that the size 6 will not fit correctly around. I hoped that I helped some people out with this one. I also noticed that it is sold online at www.drugstore.com and www.nextag.com (for the overseas and limited travel families). The case size comes in 88 to 100 qty and a package of 28qty. I have always shopped at babies r us since I was pregnant up until now when my daughter is two. I highly recommend these places because of the headache it can be making sure you buy proper diaper size until your child matures for pull ups.

(I am not compensated in anyway by any of these companies. This is a personal recommendation given only from my personal reviewhttp://www.pampers.com/pampers-cruisers?utm_source=msn&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Pampers_Innovation+Mom_Products_B_Broad&utm_term=pampers%20size%207%20diapers&utm_content=bjzJ9SWVl_pampers%20size%207%20diapers_b_1364502264 of the products)
